Fullness

I don't know about you all, but.. I think even what we did and experienced is not enough of His presence.. I am not satisfied.

I want to see the torn veil, to see His Glory, to see Him - face to face..

Pushing on, breaking through! Inwards, upwards and deeper!

PS:

Show me your face O Lord
I want to know you more
I want be right here with you
All of my days

Faces

He was right. Till we have faces, why should we ask for an audience face to face? Till we know what it is that we want, how do we present our request?

Thing is, most people don't actually know what they want. Me included. We know some of what we think will fulfill us. But we don't really know what it is about that thing that actually does the fulfilling.

And I think that when we do find out, we will be shocked.

Innocent perish

"Consider now: Who, being innocent, has ever perished? Where were the upright ever destroyed?

The answer laid eternally on a cross at the hill of Calvary one Friday afternoon

Love

This is Love, not that we loved God, but God loved us and gave His son (Jesus Christ) as a propitiation (atoning sacrifice) for our sins.

I don't know what you all feel, but when that guy was asking his dad how can it be possible to love when all the other party does is to reject you, even to spit at you; and the cross was presented as an answer.. It was just quite a visual and graphic representation of God's love. And indeed, it is when the people are feeling the same emotions that they (probably) can see much more clearly God's heart. (I believe I wrote about a similar parallel last Nov/Dec...)

It is not about that, he said. But oh, it is, it is. It is all about Him...

And for that matter, how many times have we (even us as Christians) spat at His face today?

Story

Ever had a story that brings you along, apparently nothing happening at first, seemingly mundane, then to find that this mundane thing was a background for which a climatic event would occur, and yet, after that, find that even after the climax was not the resolution, and you are brought back to the mundane things, though of course, no one can escape unchanged after the climax, still it was more or less back to normal, then in the midst of all that, you find yourself swept along to another climax, where you find the centerpiece of the entire works, and yet, that is not sufficient, and you are swept along even more to an even greater climax, and at last, you meet the resolution, only to not meet it as a resolution, but a climax of its own rights...

Such is the story of Till we have Faces. I am quite tempted to describe what happens and everything, to share the greatness of the Mythos, which is at the same time not Myth at all. In fact, 90% of my readers will probably never read that story, and perhaps half of those who read will probably not last until they reach all the climaxes, and of the remaining, perhaps another half would had already read the book, and even of those who will read it, there will be those who do not enjoy it as I do. (It is not easy reading, and I must confess, even I left it for a couple of weeks before I reached all the exciting parts)

But for the remnants, I shall preserve the story, in its untouched form, so that Lewis' genius will not be soiled by one as me.

So, no spoilers =p

Truth

True things.

That is the foundation of all Christian belief. At the most basic level, this applies to foundational and historical issues, such as the reality of Jesus, the divinity of Jesus and so on. The existence of Christianity itself is not because it is good (though it is), nor because it can break bondage (though it can), nor because of the miracles (though there are), nor because it is the best way of life (though I think it is). We believe in Jesus, not because He had taught us well, but because He had lived. That it is true that He had lived. For unless He had lived, all would be for nothing. All His moral teachings are nothing. And all we believe about the Resurrection and the Life is but nothing.

But this also applies to all of Christian teachings! We believe the Bible to be True. But unless we really believe it, it is just an empty rhetoric. Theory is not really theory if it is not true! For that matter, I don't believe there to be anything that is purely theory. If that were so, then it is not a theory at all. It is just not true. But behind (or is it in front?) of every theory is the truth, the practicality that can be acted out.

Truth. A difficult concept to grasp. But perhaps the most important, especially in our pluralistic society..
